Amazon’s Alexa launched new Live Translation-Series of new calling features

Tech Special

Amazon have a new update this holiday season and recently launched Alexa’s new Live Translation that makes it easier to understand other languages and will automatically identify the language and translate your words while connecting with families and friends.

We may now enjoy using the new calling features of Alexa by saying “Alexa, call my family” or “Alexa, join my Zoom meeting” to enjoy a remote holiday get together or virtual happy hour. It’s up to seven people who can join a hands-free video or audio call from supported Echo devices (Echo, Dot, or Show).

The said feature also allow customers who are deaf, hard of hearing, or in loud or noisy environments to turn on Call Captioning wherein Alexa can display text of what the other party is saying in near-real-time during one-on-one video, audio, and Drop In calls. Parents could even have a peace of mind since they can easily add and manage approved contacts of their kids in the Alexa app using the Amazon Kids app in Fire Kids Edition or Fire tablet to make outbound Alexa-to-Alexa calls.
